Assistance Requests information

Compassionate help for Washington County residents facing hardship.

At St. Vincent de Paul of Washington County,

we are here to help our neighbors in need.  If you or someone you know is experiencing hardship — such as difficulty paying rent or utilities, recovering from a fire or flood, or in need of food, clothing, or furniture — our Vincentian volunteers are ready to listen and provide compassionate support.
*****Important Notes*****
  • Assistance is provided based on need and available resources.
  • Completing the form does not guarantee financial assistance, but it is the first step in the review process.
  • You may be asked to provide documentation such as identification, proof of residence, or a copy of your bill or lease.
Please complete the Assistance Request Form below with as much detail as possible. Once your request is submitted, a local St. Vincent de Paul Conference member will contact you directly to discuss your situation, usually within a few days. All information shared is kept confidential and is used only to determine how we can best assist you.

What to expect:

Within 2–4 days, a Vincentian volunteer will contact you by phone.
⚠️ Please note: The call may come from a blocked or anonymous number, so be sure to answer or check your voicemail.
During the call, the Vincentians will:
  1. Introduce themselves and confirm your contact information.
  2. Listen to your situation and discuss your immediate needs.
  3. Schedule a visit or follow-up conversation to determine how St. Vincent de Paul can best assist you.
All information shared is confidential and used only to understand your needs and provide appropriate support.

How Vincentians Work

Vincentians are trained volunteers who serve through their local parish-based St. Vincent de Paul Conferences. They meet with individuals and families in their homes or another comfortable setting to:
  • Offer emotional and spiritual support
  • Assess needs for food, clothing, rent, or utility assistance
  • Connect neighbors with additional community resources
  • Provide help when possible — always with respect, compassion, and confidentiality
Vincentians are not social workers or government agencies; they are neighbors helping neighbors, inspired by faith and dedicated to restoring hope.
Please Note:
Calling the office will not speed up the process. The assistance attendant is not a trained Vincentian and cannot determine eligibility or make assistance decisions - there primary job is to pass on your information.   A Vincentian volunteer will contact you directly within 2–4 days.
